Ernest Mackevičius talks about the future of the HSE School of Media at the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design

TED is a conference focused on spreading unique and groundbreaking ideas. The lecture topics are varied, including science, art, design, politics, culture, business, global issues, technology, and entertainment. The TEDx project helps people in different countries, cities, universities and communities organize independent conferences in a TED style. Anastasia Polozova, graduate of the programme in Global Business has initiated the organization of a similar event in Nizhny Novgorod.  

Adapting to a new university environment can be a difficult process, especially with such a thing as teaching classes, where not only teacher’s own abilities but also formal requirements and the academic culture of the institution come into play. In previous issues of The HSE Look (October 2015, May 2014, September 2013) we covered different aspects of teaching at HSE, such as the module system, assessment regulations, syllabus design, finding teaching assistants and using electronic Learning Management System.

The Vice Rector position will be taken up by Igor Chirikov (who is also Director of the Centre for Sociology in Higher Education at the Institute of Education). Igor Chirikov spoke with the HSE news service about his main tasks in this new role.

On the 8th April the Department of Integrated Communications held a Brown Bag Seminar - an informal meeting for 2nd and 3rd year students (specialising in advertising and PR) with representatives of partner companies offering work experience and production training.
