HSE students who are interested in moving from a dorm to an apartment can obtain financial support from the university. For the 2019/2020 academic year, HSE students who live in a dorm will be offered 1,350 monthly reimbursements amounting to RUB 10,000.

The Academic Council has confirmed a new draft of the Regulations for Interim and Ongoing Assessments of Students at the Higher School of Economics.

On July 8, amendments to Russian migration legislation regulating the registration of foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation came into effect. They concern, in particular, HSE’s international employees and students. The most important change: you now must be registered at the place where you actually live.

The phone numbers assigned to HSE staff for business purposes will be available automatically on their personal profiles at HSE bpm. The numbers will be visible to all HSE staff and will make searching required contact information faster and easier.

Recently, the HSE student community has been disturbed by the news that from now on, authorization is required for wifi access at Dubki dormitory and Dormitory 8. Representatives of the Student Council met the staff of the Office of Information Technology and found out the details.

The registration of student organizations started on February 15, 2017. Registered organizations will receive a ‘guaranteed basic budget’ as well as other forms of support, such as the provision of premises, transport services, and information support. In April 2016 HSE Academic Council approved the new regulations for awarding performance bonuses to faculty members who are selected by students and alumni as the best teachers of the year. One fifth of all disciplines at HSE are taught in English. The classes are taught both by HSE lecturers and visiting international professors. For several years now, the curriculums have been published in Russian and English. Starting this year, exchange students can create their individual timetable with the help of online tool. For full-degree students, the timetable is now also available in English.

The candidates for Golden HSE have been nominated and in the middle of December we’ll find out who will be given the laurels. The procedure for choosing a winner has been changed a little this year. In 2015, a pilot mechanism for teaching quality assessment by students was introduced at HSE. Students can grade the courses and lecturers in the LMS system. In relation to this, many people have raised the question of how anonymity will be assured, since this might affect the honesty of the grades. Andrey Shevtsov, Senior Director for IT, commented on the problem.

The Higher School of Economics is introducing new requirements for staff’s personal pages. Our colleagues who conduct research and teach are now required to list the following identifiers on their pages: ORCID, Researcher ID, Scopus Author ID, SPIN-RSCI code, and Google Scholar.
