In 2018, National Research University Higher School of Economics (hereinafter the “University”, or “HSE University”) completed the implementation of the Development Programme of State University – Higher School of Economics, with a Category of a ‘National Research University’ Accorded Thereto, for the Period from 2009 until 2018; in 2020, it completed the implementation of the Development Programme of State University – Higher School of Economics for the period from 2009 until 2015 and up until 2020, as well as the Russian Academic Excellence Project with respect to National Research University Higher School of Economics.  

Owing to the implementation of said programmes, a small economics-focused institution has evolved into a major comprehensive university where a wide variety of fields of study is currently taught, from engineering and natural sciences to social sciences, the humanities and arts. HSE University has become one of the most sought-after academic institutions on the part of Russian applicants, while also gaining a foothold on an international educational scene.

The Development Programme of National Research University Higher School of Economics until 2030 (hereinafter the “Development Programme”), whose core provisions have been approved by the HSE University Staff and Student Conference, shall lay the foundation for the further development of the University. In addition, the Development Programme has been reviewed by the University’s Academic Council.
