Intensive Programme (20 hrs/week)
HSE’s immersive foundation course is a full-time intensive language course designed to help non-native Russian speakers achieve the proficiency required to study in Russian-taught academic programmes, use Russian professionally at the workplace, and to take Russian language exams.
Incorporating elements of phonetics, grammar, conversational practice, literary reading, and the language of mass media, this language immersion combines a variety of teaching methods to improve students’ speaking, writing, and reading skills. The course is designed to help students reach the level required to pass the First Certification Level (B1 or ТРКИ 1) of the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language, a requirement for enrollment in a Russian-taught university program.
Over 24 weeks, students will receive nearly 300 hours of classroom instruction, earning 12 ECTS credits. Certificates are presented to students upon completion of the course.
