Development plan for Russia KLEMS in 2020
At the seminar of the Russia KLEMS group, which took place on December 17, 2019, Ilya Voskoboynikov presented the directions of work in 2020.
Since the analytical value of Russia KLEMS is associated with long-series data support, the main focus of the group is the collection of long-series data for industry output indicators, factors of production and productivity.
This work will continue in 2020. It is assumed that the data will be updated for 2017, and for some indicators for 2018. Russia KLEMS indicators will be adapted to the 2008 SNA standards. It is proposed that the Russia KLEMS indicators will be experimentally calculated in the Russian classification of economic activities (OKVED-2).
A significant expansion of the system of indicators is also planned. By the end of 2020, the results of the decomposition of gross output into the contribution of energy, materials and services, based on supply and use tables, will be presented. Although this approach has been implemented in developed countries, this is the first time is will be used for the Russian economy.
