Springer Nature, HSE and Skoltech to Publish Book Series in Mathematics

Moscow Lectures, a new series of books in English, is set to be published by Springer Nature. The series is issued jointly by HSE and Skoltech, and its Editor-in-Chief is Alexey Gorodentsev, Professor at the HSE Faculty of Mathematics. Twelve volumes are currently in preparation and the first volume will be published at the beginning of June 2018. The series builds on the outstanding research and education in the field of mathematics in Moscow. It is aimed at graduate and undergraduate students, as well as lecturers and researchers, across the globe.

HSE Basic Research Programme Publishes 1,000th Working Paper

The 1,000th working paper, which came out this November, discusses how innovative companies in the U.S. fund projects. Its authors are Anastasia Stepanova and Maria Kokoreva, research fellows at the HSE Corporate Finance Center, and Kirill Povkh, first-year Master’s student in the Corporate Finance programme.

The Philosophy of Foucault, and Social Media Attitudes across Global School Settings

One of the chapters in Springer’s newly released academic volume Transforming Education is co-authored by IOE education innovation researcher Diana Koroleva. Entitled Coup D’etat in the Panopticon: Social Networking in Education, the paper has been inspired by a series of seminars in philosophy Diana was attending on her doctoral track at the IOE Graduate School of Education.

Book by Navid Hassanpour Receives APSA Award

Navid Hassanpour's book Leading from the Periphery and Network Collective Action has won the Best Book Award from the Political Networks Section of the American Political Science Association.

HSE Book Series Published by Springer

Springer, one of the world's leading publishers of scientific literature, has launched a new book series, entitled ‘Societies and political orders in transition’. The series has been initiated by the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences, and three HSE representatives are members of the series International Advisory Board, with the other four members coming from universities in Germany, UK and the USA.

Article by HSE ISSEK Researchers Appears in Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology

ISSEK staff members Gulnara Abdrakhmanova, Leonid Gokhberg, and Alexander Sokolov have written a chapter – ‘Indicators of Information and Communication Technology’ – for a 10-volume set of the Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology, edited by Mehdi Khosrow-Pour (Information Resources Management Association, USA). This publication came out in July 2017.

New Publication by HSE Lecturer Yury Kabanov Explores the Politics of Open Data in Russia

The article “Politics of Open Data in Russia: Regional and Municipal Perspectives”,  co-authored by our colleague from the Department of Political Science Yury Kabanov, was published in the « E-Democracy for Smart Cities» chapter of the Springer Journal this May.
