From July 24th to 27th, 2017, the 19th Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Conference on Business Informatics took place in Thessaloniki, Greece. Over 100 experts took part in the event, and among the speakers was Pavel Abramov, first-year student of the HSE MIEM programme in Information and Computer Science.

On August 3, 2017 Alexander Lukin, Head of the School of International Affairs, took part in the international conference ‘International Relations Theory and the Sino-Russian Relationship after the Cold War’ and presented the report on ‘Russian-Chinese Rapprochement and the Changing International System’.

The 6th International Conference on Analysis of Images, Social Networks and Texts was held on July 27-29 in Moscow with the support of the Higher School of Economics. This year 130 papers from different universities, including many international ones, were submitted for the conference. The best works were selected by renowned experts in data analysis from all over the world; these papers will be included in the conference proceedings and published in the series ‘Lecture Notes in Computer Science’ issued by Springer.

On July 10–13, 2017, Lisbon, Portugal welcomed the third meeting of national supervisory groups working as part of the TALIS 2018 secondary education evaluation project. Russia was represented by instructional design & practice experts Elena Chernobai and Daria Tuchkova from HSE Institute of Education.

On June 29 – 30, 2017, an international Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology (SCAP2017) took place in Singapore. Psychologists from 14 countries took part in the event. A paper by Natalia Antonova, Associate Professor at HSE, and Vladislav Gorbov, HSE graduate, received the Best Paper Award.

From June 22 – 24, 2017, the 4^th international conference in econometrics ‘Modern Econometric Tools and Applications’ took place at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod. Andrey Maximov, Professor, Head of theDepartment of Economic Theory and Econometrics and chair of the conference organizing committee, shared a brief overview of what the event achieved.

On June 23-24, the international conference ‘Economics of Football’ was held in Kazan. This event was organized by the Higher School of Economics (HSE), the New Economic School and Kazan Federal University. Angel Barajas, Dennis Coates, Elena Shakina, Petr Parshakov, Iuliia Naidenova and Anna Bykova, staff members of the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy, participated in the conference. The researchers presented papers and worked as moderators, discussants and key speakers at various sessions and workshops.

The Second World Congress of Comparative Economics '1917 –2017: Revolution and Evolution in Economic Development' took place at the Higher School of Economics between 15 and 17 June 2017. After the successful First World Congress held in Rome in June 2015, the HSE campus in St Petersburg had the honour of hosting the second gathering of leading comparative economists from all over the globe.

The Second International Conference 'Digital Transformation & Global Society' (DTGS’17) was held between 21 and 23 June, 2017, to address various issues of information society development. The conference was co-organized by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg) and the ITMO University.

On June 14 the workshop ‘Complexity of Computation, Communication, Descriptions, and Proofs’, organized by the Laboratory of Theoretical Computer Science, was held at HSE Faculty of Computer Sciences. The conference was organized as part of the major international conference ‘Computer Science in Russia’.
