Vera Gribanova, a graduate student in the Master’s Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation'  runs a radio programme about great scientific achievements called ‘Scientific Light’ on the radio station ‘Moscow Talks’ (Govorit Moskva). This year her radio show has received the prestigious prize ‘For Loyalty to Science’, which is awarded annually by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

An article by HSE Faculty of Computer Sciences senior Artyom Gadetsky was accepted for presentation at the Association for Computational Linguistics international conference, the only A* level conference on computational linguistics. According to the CORE system, which ranks large conferences in computer science, the category A* is the highest level for a conference.

Elena Orlova, a fourth year student in Applied Mathematics at MIEM, took part in a summer school at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland). As part of the GeantV Software Developer Team, she relied on machine learning to model the transition of elementary particles through matter.

Rudolf Laiko and Sophia Tolstoukhova have applied deep learning methods to solving immunological issues that could contribute to the further development of personalized medicine. The results of their research were presented at the International Conference ISMB/ECCB 2017 focused on the application of intelligent systems in molecular biology.
