HSE Diploma Supplement

About

The Diploma Supplement (Supplement to HSE University Diploma) is an official document issued by HSE University in English.

This document is often required by graduates applying to foreign universities or by international companies during the recruitment process. Each element of the curriculum listed in the Supplement is presented in ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), making the HSE degree comparable to those of foreign universities.

The purpose of the Diploma Supplement is to describe the nature, level, content and status of the education programme completed by the student. It is attached to degree certificates of all levels; it is not the main degree certificate.

Contents

The Supplement is issued alongside the HSE diploma (since 2021) and is printed on special security paper with several protective elements designed to prevent forgery or tampering.

The Diploma Supplement consists of the following eight sections:

1. Graduate details: full name, date, diploma number (since 2020, the HSE custom diploma number is also stated).
2. Information on the qualification (degree): educational programme, specialisation/concentration (major), qualification, date of qualification, language of instruction.
3. Education level details: degree programme title, specialisation/concentration (if any), minimum credit requirements, and admission requirements.
4. Information on the programme’s content and student results: type of study, academic performance details, GPA, education system grading scale, and credit system information.
5. Information on professional skills: professional status and potential further learning pathways.
6. Additional information about HSE.
7. Certification of the diploma: name, position, and signature of the official certifying the Supplement.
8. General information on the national education system.

Who is eligible for it

HSE issues one free copy of the Diploma Supplement per graduate (bachelor’s graduates who studied full-time and master’s graduates, both full-time and part-time). If you have completed both a bachelor’s and master’s degree at HSE, you are eligible to receive two separate Diploma Supplements—one for each degree.

If there is an error in your Diploma Supplement or if it is lost, damaged, or your name changes, you can contact the university for a free replacement. Additional copies or multiple Diploma Supplements are available for a fee—detailed information is available at the link.

If you studied at HSE University before 2011 and did not receive a Diploma Supplement with your state-issued diploma, you may apply for an HSE University Diploma Supplement. One copy of the Supplement, corresponding to one level of qualification (bachelor’s, master’s, or specialist), is provided free of charge. Certifying Copies of the HSE Diploma Supplement

Our graduates often apply to several foreign universities at a time and need to submit several document packages. In this case, you can obtain a free certified copy of your diploma supplement or, for a fee, request additional copies.

To certify a copy, submit a request via the Student Service Centre’s online service (link). You will need to log in to your MyHSE Services Account to apply. If you do not have an account, please register via the link.
