Special Arrangements for Final State Certification of Students with Disabilities and Special Needs

If you require special arrangements for your Final State Certification (FSC), you must submit a written request to the programme office at least three months before the FSC begins. This request should outline the specific arrangements needed, addressed to the academic supervisor of your degree programme.

Your request may include the need for:

  • Modifications to the format of your FSC assessment (oral or written);
  • The presence of a technical assistant during state examinations or thesis defence;
  • Additional technical resources or specialised software;
  • Extended duration for the completion of state examinations or thesis defence.

The duration of state certification assessments may be extended as follows:

  • Written state examinations: by no more than 90 minutes;
  • Preparation time for oral state examinations: by no more than 20 minutes;
  • Student presentations during thesis defence: by no more than 15 minutes.

Along with your request, you should provide copies of medical documents that substantiate the need for these conditions, or the actual medical documents if they are not already part of your student file.

The provisions for granting special arrangements for the FSC are detailed in the Special Arrangements for Final State Certification of Students with Disabilities and Special Needs, Pursuing Bachelor’s, Specialist and Master’s Programmes at HSE University. These regulations outline the procedures for establishing and managing state examination boards (SEB).
