How to upload student papers and theses in Learning Management System (LMS)

These guidelines do not apply to evaluating the work of undergraduates in part-time or distance learning programmes.

Term papers, projects, and final theses are uploaded and checked for plagiarism using the LMS system, with the submission form accessible in the LMS account after login:

The list of all the term papers and theses assigned to you by the study office of your educational programme, based on a personal application and secured by corresponding directives, should be available in this LMS module.

Before uploading the file of the work into the LMS system, one must verify the accuracy of their personal information:

  • Full name
  • Faculty
  • Group
  • Level of education
  • Degree programme
  • Email (a corporate student address is set by default)
  • Contact phone number

The next step is to verify the information about the work and provide additional details:

  • Topic in Russian
  • Topic in English
  • Supervisor
  • Type of paper
  • Language of the paper
  • Prepared individually / in a group
  • Abstract in Russian (no more than 2000 characters including spaces) — for final theses only
  • Abstract in English (no more than 2000 characters including spaces) — for final theses only

Should there be any discrepancies in the presented information, contact the staff of the study office of your educational programme.

Please be advised that information regarding papers and theses will be included in the HSE diploma supplement and the diploma supplement in English.

For the final version of the thesis/term paper submission, the following must be specified:

Once all data is verified and required fields completed, the "Submit" button will become active (changing it colour from grey to blue).

The uploaded term paper/thesis is checked for plagiarism via the "Antiplagiat" module, which allows for the creation of a unified database of student works, automatic plagiarism percentage checks, and provides the supervising teacher's personal account with the uploaded text and plagiarism check technical results.

The HSE University LMS system automatically sends the uploaded file for plagiarism check to the "Antiplagiat" system.

After the check, the output file displays:

  • Topic in Russian
  • Topic in English
  • Upload date
  • Plagiarism percentage
  • Completion status

Additionally, a QR code in PDF format is generated as confirmation of work upload and plagiarism check.

This QR code, along with the final thesis and the supervisor's review, must be submitted according to the educational programme's requirements (deadline, place of submission).
