Organizers: The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), the International Scientific and Education Center “UNESCO Chair on Copyright, Neighboring, Cultural and Information Rights of the Higher School of Economics” (UNESCO Chair of HSE), the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RSAIP).
The Forum traditionally is timed to the World Book and Copyright Day (April 23) declared by UNESCO and the World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) declared by WIPO, and is organized as an associated event of the Intellectual Property Days and the XXIV Yasin International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development (HSE).
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, other federal executive authorities, profile committees and commissions of the chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Court for Intellectual Property Rights, creative unions as well as prominent Russian and foreign legal scholars, patent attorneys, lawyers, inventors, public figures, legal practitioners, students, postgraduate students and academics of Russian and foreign universities, scientists of various research institutes etc. are invited to participate in the Conference.
The topic of the Conference is “Authorship: national, regional, universal aspects”.
The Conference will start on Thursday, April 27, 2023. A plenary session and three consecutive section meetings are planned to be held.
The plenary session will take place on April 27 at Rospatent's premises (Moscow, Berezhkovskaya emb., 24-1) from 10.00 to 14.00.
Section meetings will take place on Friday, April 28:
Section “The rights of the inventor and their protection as a critical tool of innovation policy” - from 10.00 to 12.00 at the headquarters of the EAPO (Moscow, M. Cherkassky Lane, 2);
Section “Author's place in the algorithmic world” - from 12.00 to 14.00 at Rospatent'spremises (Moscow, Berezhkovskaya emb., 24-1);
Section “Mechanisms of Enforcement of Rights and Legal Interests of Authors in the Current Conditions of Intellectual Property Development” - from 14.00 to 16.00 at RGAIS’s premises (Moscow, Miklouho-Maclay str., 55a).
All meetings will be held in a hybrid format with the use of the video conferencing system. The working languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Participation in the Conference is free of charge.
Applications for participation in the Conference are accepted on the website of the UNESCO Chair of the HSE: www.hse.ru/unesco: for participants - from January 17 to April 8, 2023; for listeners- from January 17 to April 25, 2023. The Conference program is formed on the basis of the applications received, which are reviewed given the reports’ theses.
Registration for offline participants on the Conference days is available 1 hour before the start of the meeting.
Note: Non-resident and foreign speakers whose presentations are included in the Conference program can receive a personal invitation for the business trip arrangement if necessary. Speakers and other participants of the Conference may receive the respective certificates (Certificate of Attendance) within a month after the end of the Conference.
In case the number of applications for offline participation exceeds the sanitary and epidemiological requirements of the event, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel the offline participation and offer to participate in the online format.
Reports of the Conference participants that meet the HAC requirements for the content and design of scientific articles can be published in the quarterly journal “Works on Intellectual Property”of the UNESCO Chair of the Higher School of Economics, the journal “Copyright” RSAIP Bulletin (included in the List of HAC peer-reviewed scientific publications) and in the FIPS Bulletin.
