Green Energy Patents Boost Company Profitability
An ESG strategy—Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance—not only helps preserve the environment but can also generate tangible income. Thus, the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and green technologies in the energy sector enhances return on investment and profitability. In contrast, higher CO2 emissions result in lower financial performance. This has been demonstrated in a collaborative study by the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences and the European University at St. Petersburg. Their findings have been published in Frontiers in Environmental Science.

On August 24-25, the DANO hackathon dedicated to data analysis took place in Perm, featuring participation from school students. The event gathered 12 teams, totaling 60 participants from Perm, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and the Moscow region. The hackathon provided young participants with a unique opportunity to experience being data analysts, conduct their own research based on big data, and gain a chance to advance directly to the second stage of the Data Analysis Olympiad.

The Student Expedition “Geoinformation Support and Scientific Substantiation of the Development of Tourist and Recreational Activities of Protected Areas on the Example of the Tunka National Park” Was Completed

From August 1 to August 12 the student expedition of the project “Rediscovering Russia” took place under the guidance of the head of the international laboratory of landscape ecology Robert Sandlersky and researcher Marina Tsydypova. Students of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies conducted research work in the territory of the Tunka National Park in order to map the objects of its infrastructure, as well as accounting and sociological surveys of recreationists within the framework of the park's preparation of a recreational activity plan.
