On June 21, Junior Research Fellow of the Laboratory Yevgeniya Shenkman and Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Candidate of Sociological Sciences Yuliya Papushina presented their research at the scientific seminar of the Department of Management at HSE University Perm. The research was titled "Topics and Dynamics in the Sociology of Consumption from 1976 to 2023: Automated Literature Analysis Using the BERT Deep Learning Model."

On June 21, Elena Popova defended her master's thesis "Semantics of the First–Order Logic of Evidence with a Binding Modality" (supervisor - T.L. Yavorskaya) with an excellent grade (10).

Anna Moiseeva, a researcher at IL LogLinFF, made a presentation on the topic of "How We Create and Identify Fictitious Objects" at the theoretical seminar "Formal Philosophy" on June 21.

Intern-researcher Anastasia Zhitkova from the Laboratory of Social and Cognitive Informatics participated in the program.

How are digital platforms contributing to sustainable development? How is international cooperation progressing in Eurasia? How should the Russia-India business dialogue proceed? HSE University's scientists presented their answers during expert discussions at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Our results show that the design of shRNA affects its processing by RNase-III Dicer and can result in the generation of undesirable 5'-isoforms of miRNA/siRNA encoded within the shRNA. This effect is especially significant for miRNA/siRNA longer than 19 nt.

Intern researcher IL LogLinFF Vyacheslav Pyatakov made a presentation at the workshop "From the Logical Point of View", which took place on June 14.

On 13 June, the results of the VII season of the All-Russian Student Olympiad «‎I am a Professional» organized by the association of the same name were summed up. The winners included the staff of the ILSIR: research assistants Natalia Bulchenko and Arsenii Buchatskii. We talked to Natalia and Arsenii and found out their impressions and secrets of successful participation.
