The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge published the statistical data book 'Education in figures'. It includes data describing the current state and development dynamics of the general, vocational, and higher education in Russia. Here are a few of the more interesting figures.
An expert in science, technology and innovation is a person who provides scientists and engineers with economic, legal, sociological and managerial knowledge in innovative, entrepreneurial teams. These specialists are already in high demand in such organisations as Russian Venture Company, Innovation Promotion Fund, OECD and World Bank; and the demand for them will grow. These specialists are trained at the Master’s Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge.
Centre for Bioelectric Interfaces designes not only brain-computer interfaces, but myographic interfaces as well (controlled by the electrical activity of muscles). Analysis of the electromyographic (EMG) signals of the anterior forearm muscles, recorded from the area of 1.5 square cantimeteres, allows to reconstruct fingers movements (see the video).

This is one of the world's leading conferences in the field of modern probability theory and mathematical statistics, which is held every four years since 1973. This year over 200 works were presented at the event and 500 participants from all over the globe attended it.
