On May 20th Prof. Yves Gingras has delivered a “New Areas for Use of Bibliometric Methods” at the HSE. The event has been organized by the Research Laboratory of Science and Technology Studies, HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge.

Cross-cultural Studies of Autonomy and Self-determination of Human Behavior

The chief researcher of the International Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research, Associate professor of Department of Psychology in Saskatchevan University PhD Valery Chirkov presented his work on 31st May within the Laboratory research seminar. The presentation “Cross-cultural Studies of Autonomy and Self-determination of Human Behavior” was devoted to the results of the research project “Parent and Teacher Autonomy support in Russian and US adolescents”.

President of Russia met with foreign scientists

Taking part in the discussion with Dmitry Medvedev were scientists from universities in the USA, Japan, Britain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and other countries, who were among the winners of the Russian Education and Science Ministry’s first tender for organising and carrying out research and development work at Russian universities. There was also scientific adviser LCSS, Ronald Inglehart.

Workshop on Field Experimentation in Political Economy

Some of the Center’s experts attended a workshop on field experiments in New York on the 18-20th of May, 2011. The seminar was organized by the Columbia Center for the Study of Development Strategies and the Harriman Institute at Columbia University as part of the joint project of the Higher School of Economics and the Harriman Institute for the establishment of the International Centre for the Study of Institutions and Development at the HSE.
