About a year ago, HSE University was among the first group of Russian universities to receive a grant from the ‘Priority 2030’ Strategic Academic Leadership Programme and began implementing strategic research projects. HSE University recently defended its report before the programme's board. Elena Odoevskaya, HSE University Vice Rector and coordinator of the HSE Development Programme for the Period until 2030 and the ‘Priority 2030’ programme, spoke to the HSE News Service about what has been achieved this year and how the format of strategic projects is changing at the university.

On January 11 Julia Belova (PhD in Sociology, Leading Research Fellow, Institute of Applied Political Research, Laboratory for Political Research, National Research University Higher School of Economics) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Alcoholism of local residents in the perception of young people in the Pskov region: stigmatization, place identity and migration attitudes".

On January 10, 2023 a defence of the dissertation of Artur Petrosyan on "Modern methods of machine learning in the interpretation of electrical activity of the brain", presented for the degree of Candidate of Computer Sciences.

On Wednesday, January 11, the National Research University Higher School of Economics hosted a seminar "Expert opinion and data analysis".

Senior Research Fellow of the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research Maria Kurnikova received the degree of Doctor of Sciences for the successful defense of her dissertation on the topic: "Social well-being of a family with a disabled child in the space of physical culture and sports".

The Condensed-Matter Physics Laboratory invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of condensed-matter physics. The deadline for the application is February 14, 2023.
