On April 7th 2020 graduate student of mathematical faculty and research-intern of the Laboratory of Algebraic Geometry Konstantin Loginov successfully defended his Thesis for a degree of Candidate of Science (Ph.D.)

On March 24, 2020, a joint seminar was held at the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research and the Department of General Sociology of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Higher School of Economics. Volha Verbilovich, Master of Sociology and Lecturer for the School of Media, presented a report on her dissertation entitled “Disability Category in the Public Sphere”, which performed under the guidance of the Head of the Laboratory, PhD, professor of the Department of General Sociology E.R. Iarskaya-Smirnova.

The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) has presented data about the current conditions in which Russia’s schools and universities must now transition to online learning. According to their data, only 11.4% of university instructors with a PhD (or Doctor of Sciences degree) used online tools in their teaching in the last year.

On Wednesday, March 18 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. A. Rezyapova gave a lecture on "International Migration: Problems of Public Administration".

On March 5, the regular seminar of the Modern Demography series was held. At the seminar, Evgeny Mikhailovich Andreev, head of the International Laboratory for Population and Health, presented the report "Inequality in the infant mortality rate among the population of modern Russia."

On Wednesday, March 4 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. D. Sokolov gave a lecture on "Shapley Value for TU-Games with Multiple Membership and Externalities".

On Febrary 25 Alexander Tatarko (PhD) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "The relationship of integration policies regarding migrants with perceived threat and generalized trust".
