The new patented method is based on a superposition of functions and considerably enhances the speed and precision of Big Data processing. The project’s authors are Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor at HSE and Head of the International Laboratory of Decision Choice and Analysis, Laboratory Researchers Sergey Shvydun, Evgeny Mitichkin and Vyacheslav Yakuba, as well as Vyacheslav Chistyakov, Professor at the HSE Campus in Nizhny Novgorod.

The laboratory presented (and at the same time conducted) its research at the site of the first interdisciplinary science festival of Lunokhod-1 HSE. Participants of the festival are mostly young people (the average age of the participants of the experiment is 21), representatives of various professions (from physicists to lyricists), regions and countries (from Estonia to Uzbekistan), United by interest in science and knowledge about society.

A group of laboratory staff headed by Professor Fuad Aleskerov returned from the Arctic University of Norway (UiT). The HSE scholars and students participated in the first field course which was held from September 24 to September 28, 2018 as part of a three-year project on international cooperation between NRU HSE and the Arctic University of Norway (UiT).

Tackling this problem was one of the objectives of the new 'May' Presidential decrees: when young people are keen on finding jobs in science, stay with their career choice, and make full use of their potential, a generally favourable overall atmosphere emerges in the sector. In the scope of the discussion, the experts pondered opportunities for improving science management tools to promote the inflow of new talent.

IIMS and ICSID Director Prof. Andrei Yakovlev became a winner of a prestigious Yegor Gaidar Annual Award for “Outstanding Contributions to Economics”. The Award Ceremony took place in the Theatre of Nations in Moscow on December 15, 2017.
