The HSE University held a meeting of the working group of the BRICS Civil Forum in the format of a round table «Sovereign Economic and Financial Development» to prepare proposals for the BRICS Civil Forum, which will be held in Moscow on July 3-4, 2024. The meeting was attended by the Research Fellow of the International Laboratory of Digital Transformation in Public Administration of the HSE University Evgenii Diskin.

The laboratory staff took part in the Seminar on the conservation of the Amur Tiger and Leopard, held from March 13 to 16 in Harbin (Heilongjiang Province, China), at the Northeastern University of Forestry with the support of the International Society of Zoological Sciences and the Chinese Wildlife Conservation Association.
The impressive results of the Centre's Researchers' work were presented at the XXVIII International Symposium "Nanophysics and Nanoelectronics" in a poster presentation "Transition from type II to Type I superconductivity in dirty ferromagnetic superconductors". The symposium was held in Nizhny Novgorod on March 11 - 15, 2024 and brought together more than six hundred scientists from all over Russia, as well as from other countries. This is the largest conference on condensed matter physics in Russia, covering a wide range of issues from the physics of superconducting, magnetic and semiconductor systems, multilayer X-ray optics and quantum technologies.
Think20 (T20) is an official Engagement Group of the G20. It serves as an "idea bank" for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and high-level experts to discuss policy issues relevant to the G20. T20 recommendations are synthesized into policy briefs and presented to G20 working groups, ministerial meetings, and leaders’ summit to help the G20 deliver concrete policy measures. Every year scientists all over the world suggest their ideas for the "idea bank" . In 2024 the "AI for Inclusion: A Public G20 AI Platform" was suggested.
On March 6-8, 2024, The Sixth International Conference on Development and Governance in the BRICS was held in Raipur, India. Ivan Makarov, a Research Assistant at HSE’s International Laboratory of Digital Transformation in Public Administration, remotely participated in it.
The Russian and Brazilian scientists have started the joint development of a new theory of high-temperature superconductivity, which will explain the nature of recently discovered superconductors with multiple condensates, as well as the so-called topological superconductors. Mauro Doria, Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and Alexey Vagov, Director of the Center for Quantum Metamaterials at the Higher School of Economics, told HSE Daily about how cooperation will develop.
Natalia Sharova, the leading researcher of the International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology, received the position Postdoctoral Fellow in Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
11 scientific articles have been published in Q1 journals, including Nature Physics and Physical Review Letters. The research results were also presented in 17 reports at leading international scientific (scientific and practical) conferences in the Russian Federation and abroad.
In December, the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge and the HSE AI Research Centre participated in UNCTAD eWeek to discuss the future of the emerging digital economy. One of the topics discussed during the conference was artificial intelligence and its applications in driving the digital transformation of industry sectors. The session was co-organised by HSE University.
In the framework of a major academic mission to Latin America, a delegation from HSE University visited the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), a Brazilian higher education institution and analytical centre for training specialists in administration. Representatives of FGV have expressed their interest in signing a cooperation agreement in the spheres of media communications and game theory.
