On May 20, Days of the International Academy of Education kicked off at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Experts from all over the world who focus on global education policy trends will meet up across a number of HSE venues to engage in vibrant, multi-format networking, including lectures, workshops, Q&A sessions, etc. They will share their experience with Russian researchers, instructors and policymakers over the course of three days.

Konstantin Fursov, Deputy Director of the ISSEK Centre for Statistics and Monitoring of Science, Technology and Innovation, took part in a meeting on developing human potential for the R&D sector chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on 26 April at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny. The article “Elections, Protest, and Trust in Government: A Natural Experiment from Russia” by Timothy Frye and Ekaterina Borisova was published online on the Journal of Politics website on April 16.

The regular workshop organized by the International Laboratory for Supercomputer Atomistic Modelling and Multi-scale Analysis presented reports on the modern development of supercomputer technologies, on the HSE supercomputer, and on the results of solving various real problems using atomic modeling.

The 10^th scientific seminar ‘Modern demography’ was held on the 17^th of April.Anatoliy I. Yashin, PhD, ScD, research professor and co-Director of Biodemography of Aging Research Unit (BARU), SSRI, Duke University, USA presented a paper " The Progress in Understanding Alzheimer's Disease".

On April 12, 2018 the round table "Using the OECD standards and best practices in Urban and Housing Policy" took place at the Higher School of Economics. The event was conducted jointly with DOM.RF Russia Housing and Urban Development Corporation in the framework of the section S "Science and Innovation" of the XIX HSE International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. Participants discussed a wide range of issues, in particular the potential of green growth and sustainable urban development.

The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge with support from the Ministry of Education and Science launches the online project 'Knowledge Network' to Share Best R&D Management Practices and S&T Results”.
