Second School-seminar "Supercomputers in scientific research: the horizons of multiscale modeling and effective supercomputer co-design"
As part of the promotion of modern supercomputer technologies for the needs of scientific research, SAMMA laboratory organized the second school-seminar "Supercomputers in scientific research: the horizons of multi-scale modeling and effective supercomputer co-design". This event brings together developers of advanced supercomputer technologies and scientists who use high-performance computing in their research. The first day was devoted to the analysis of new technical solutions for high-performance computing, and the second to applications of supercomputer modeling, molecular dynamics simulations in the real problems of materials science and molecular biology.

A hosted lecture by Professor Eric Maskin "How to Improve Presidential Elections" at the Faculty of Economic Sciences on December 13 was followed by by the meeting of the  DeCAn lab Staff with the Nobel Laureate.

Scenarios for the Future, and S&T Development Goals will be Discussed at the HSE Foresight Conference

Strategic planning skills are increasingly often seen as a core competence for the 21st century; researchers are trying to measure regions’ and whole countries’ readiness for the future, while futures studies the world over are conducted on an impressive scientific foundation. On 15-16 November the VIII International Academic Conference “Foresight and STI Policy” will take place in Moscow. Participants from more than 15 countries will present tens of case studies reflecting practices of international organisations (such as OECD, UNESCO, European Commission), governments, major companies, leading universities and R&D centres; analyse global development scenarios and challenges, cutting-edge foresight approaches and tools, and best practices of measuring and monitoring progress in the science, technology and innovation sphere.

Today was the third day of the Autumn school 'Current Trends in Decision-making Analysis' organized by the International Laboratory of Decision Choice and Analysis. The invited lecturers included outstanding academics and researchers Itzhak Gilboa, Theocharis Grigoriadis, Michel Grabisch, Gabrielle Demange, Saptarshi Mukherjee, Stefan Napel, Agnieszka Rusinowska, William Thomson, Katarína Cechlárová.

On November 7, the Autumn school on Current Trends in Decision-making Analysis opened. The event is organized by the International Laboratory of Decision Choice and Analysis. Among the invited lecturers there are outstanding academics and researchers: Itzhak Gilboa, Theocharis Grigoriadis, Michel Grabisch, Gabrielle Demange, Saptarshi Mukherjee, Stefan Napel, Agnieszka Rusinowska, William Thomson, and Katarína Cechlárová.

Seminars of DeCAn lab were held

DeCAn lab organized a course of seminars on November 6, 2018 where leading international researchers Michel Grabisch, Gabrielle Demange, Saptarshi Mukherjee, Stefan Napel and Agnieszka Rusinowska presented their recent research results.

Talk by G. Penikas at the Annual International Summit of Young Scientists and Engineers “Great challenges for society, state and science” in Sochi.

From 14 to 16 October 2018, the 9th All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists “Meeting big challenges” was held in Sochi in the Park of Science and Art “Sirius”. The goal of the event is widening of the networking cooperation and coordination of work of councils of young scientists in order to join efforts in solving strategic tasks of development of Russia. The Congress was held in the framework of the Annual International Summit of Young Scientists and Engineers “Great challenges for society, state and science”. Senior research fellow G.Penikas gave a talk at the conference.
