A workshop dedicated to the inclusion of children and youth in post-socialist countries was held at the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research on March 2, 2022. It discussed drafts of two research articles being prepared for a special issue of the journal "Children and Youth Services Review".

The project is aimed at analyzing the limits and possibilities of social and technological intervention in the prevention of social orphanhood with the prospect of developing effective methods and technologies to combat the problem of social orphanhood.
On January 17, a joint seminar was held by the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research (NRU HSE) and the Russian Committee for Children Villages - SOS. The seminar was dedicated to the results of a study of the lives of SOS students.

Dagestan is a relatively new territory for the spread of the Russian language. At the end of the 19th century, very few people spoke Russian here. In addition to indigenous languages, which Dagestan is very rich in (linguists count more than forty languages in this small territory), local people spoke Azerbaijani, Georgian, Chechen and Arabic. But there has never been a language common for all residents of Dagestan (the language of interethnic communication or lingua franca). Russian became the first such language for Dagestan.
On December 2, an international online seminar "Barriers and Prospects for Employment of People with Disabilities in Russia and Abroad" was held. The seminar was organized by the Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Center, the World Bank and the International NRU HSE Laboratory for Social Integration Research with the support of the ROOI "Perspektiva" and the All-Russian Society of People with Disabilities. Within the framework of the seminar, the results of the analysis of the opportunities and barriers to integrating people with disabilities into the Russian labor market were presented.
On 24-27 November, Svetlana Malyutina, Senior Research Fellow, Deputy Director of the Center for Language and Brain gave lectures and discussed cooperation with the Smolensk State University laboratory.
The project 'People with Mental Disabilities in the Employment Process: Strategies, Barriers and Subjective Meanings of Participation' was prepared by Christian Fröhlich (leader), Daria Prisyazhnyuk, Maria Ivanova and Anna Sinelnikova.
