In 2020 the world changed, and so did HSE. Classes were held over Zoom, exams were taken online with proctoring, Meladze performed online at the graduation ceremony, and HSE Day became Brand New. The festival’s main stage area was called ‘HSE PRO Future’—because, after all, the future is important for any university. It’s why we do what we do. Read on to find out what the next 10 years hold in store for HSE, and what HSE, which has already changed this year, holds in store for us. On September 5, Natalia Zevakhina presented the paper "More facts about syntactic amalgams: Evidence from Russian exclamatives" at the 2020 Slavic Linguistics Society Meeting.

The 53rd SLE conference was held in an unconventional format for the first time in history. The Linguistic convergence laboratory was represented by a number of talks.

On August 29 the International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis (ISSA) held the 8th Workshop "What can FCA do for artificial intelligence? (FCA4AI)"  as a part of the program of the European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2020).

The master's program "Financial Strategies and Analytics" in which students study text mining, showed the implementation of the results of IDLab projects in the educational process

16-17 July our research fellow Vera Ignatenko was participating in the Computing Conference 2020, which has been held in London every year since 2013.

On Sunday, July 19 the scientific seminar of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis was held. Professor Morreau gave a lecture on "Democracy without Enlightenment"

I. Makarov made a presentation “Real-Time 3D Model Reconstruction and Mapping for Fashion” at the conference TSP2020 on the topic of virtual fitting rooms based on machine learning models. Due to the restrictions on the pandemic, the conference was held online.

On Sunday, July 12 the scientific seminar of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis was held. Professor Maskin gave a lecture on "Arrow’s Theorem, May’s Axioms, and Borda’s Rule"
