On October 8 Azhariya Muminova (Research Assistant, CSCR, HSE) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Relationship between Acculturation Strategies and School Bullying in Ethnic Minority Adolescents".

Report by T.V. Teplova, A.F. Tomtosov. and Sokolova T.V. "Sentiment of Retail Investors on the Internet Anonymous Messengers in Explaining Differences in the Emerging Market Stock Characteristics" has been presented at the 33rd EBES Conference - Madrid by Alexander Tomtosov, the HSE LFMA analyst.
The discussion has been made by a well-known researcher from France (Montpellier Business School) Associate Professor Adam Zaremba. Positive comments have been received on the ongoing topic of the relationship between the sentiment of private investors and the characteristics of assets in emerging capital markets.

Mathematicians of the Higher School of Economics have calculated the effectiveness of measures taken to fight the coronavirus epidemic in different countries. They have concluded that the scale of anti-epidemic measures does not necessarily directly affect the disease rate, suggesting that one of the main reasons for this is the willingness of citizens to clearly, honestly and consistently comply with anti-epidemic measures.

On July 23, the regular seminar of the Modern Demography series was held. At the seminar, László Németh (research scientist, Laboratory of Demographic Data, Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, Germany) and Ainhoa Alustiza Galarza (research assistant, Laboratory of Demographic Data, Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, Germany) presented the recently established Short-term Mortality Fluctuations (STMF) data series.
