Martin Luther King famously said that the arc of history is bending toward justice - a statement sometimes dismissed as too idealistic but one that may actually have a basis in social science. More than thirty years of research by Ronald Inglehart suggest that, in the long run, democratisation, with its attendant social and legal justice, is inevitable. But how long is that long run? April 18-20 the IV International Research Conference "Culture in society, between groups and across generations", organized by the International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research at the Expert Institute of the Higher School of Economics took place in Moscow.

On Wednesday, April 19 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. Professor Andranik Tangian (WSI in the Hans-Böckler-Foundation, Düsseldorf, and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany) gave a lecture on «The third vote experiment: VAA-based election to enhance policy representation of the KIT student parliament»
On Wednesday, April 19 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. S.G. Kulivets and D.V. Ushakov gave a lecture on «Modeling relationship between cognitive abilities and economic achievements»
We are pleased to announce that the 7th LCSR International Workshop “Subjective Well-being and Growing Inequality across the Globe” started on Tuesday, 11 April at the HSE, Moscow. The Seminar is organized within the XVII April International Academic Conference at the HSE. The event will last until April 14.
On April 11, at the XVIII April international scientific conference on the problems of development of the economy and society, International Research and Training Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research organized a session "Value Transmission in Different Cultures", and laboratory staff participated in other thematic sections.
