This year, HSE University has entered four additional QS World University Rankings by Subject, thereby bringing its grand total of represented broad and specific subject areas to 23. HSE ranks in 19 of the 38 subject rankings that include Russian universities, as well as in four of the ranking’s five broad subject areas. HSE is among the world’s top 100 universities in five subjects, including History and Social Policy & Administration, where it has entered the rankings for the first time.

If one of the HSE teams wins the regional level competition, it will advance to the Challenge’s global level competition. HSE News Service spoke with HSE students about how the local round went.

HSE has been offering courses in Asian Studies for 10 years now with numerous departments and programmes producing research in the field and offering in-depth courses. In December 2019, the HSE Academic Council approved the opening of a Joint Department with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IOS RAS). How will the IOS RAS transfer its vast experience and resource to its new home at HSE? And what traditions in the study and teaching of Asian studies already exist at HSE?

The University of London (UoL) has completed the monitoring of the performance of Teaching Centres that operate under the Teaching Centres Recognition Framework. Upon consideration of the information gathered, the performance achieved by International College of Economics and Finance has been rated as excellent.

Since 2015, the DAAD has provided an opportunity for students to study at HSE Summer University. For summer 2020, eight scholarships have been allocated for students from Germany to enroll in the Summer University. The names of scholarship recipients will be announced in May.

It was both productive and great for HSE University team lead by Vice Rector Ivan Prostakov to meet our partners from all over the world, and to get to know the new universities at NAFSA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Washington DC on 28-31 May 2019.

We would like to inform you about the new enrollment of applications for the program “Doing Business in Russia - Russland in der Praxis” for winter semester 2019-2020. The program consists of the study module “Doing Business in Russia” at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” in Moscow and a half-year internship in a German company operated in Russia.

The agreement establishes a student- and academic-exchange programme and the opportunity for joint educational and research project development. The agreement was signed on April 8 with the participation of representatives of the government of North Rhine-Westphalia.
