The Vietnam-Russia academic conference that took place in Hanoi in April decided to establish a Vietnamese-Russian Technological University (VRTU) on the basis of the Le Quy Don University of Science and Technology. HSE’s School of Software Engineering is to play a key role in this process.

Joint Brainstorming by International Researchers
A week-long training methodological workshop 'Economic and Social Changes: values effects across Eurasia' on advanced quantitative methods in comparative studies took place in April. The workshop was jointly organized by the Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES), Turkey, and HSE's Laboratory for Comparative Social Research. The workshop included presentations by the members of LCSR and EBES, series of practical workshops, as well as reports of the participants.

HSE to Join SESS.EuroPhD Consortium
HSE has been officially invited to join the European PhD in Socio-Economic and Statistical Studies (SESS.EuroPhD) Consortium starting from the 2015/2016 academic year. At a recent annual seminar held in Rome, all the participants expressed a strong interest in HSE becoming a full member of the consortium.
Joint Symposium Seeks to Build Bridges between Russian and Asian Marketing and Management
As part of the XVI April International Academic Conference, HSE hosted a joint symposium of the Global Alliance of Marketing & Management Associations (GAMMA) co-organized with Korean Scholars of Marketing Science. Themed ‘Bridging Asia and Russia in Global Marketing & Management’, the event aimed to promote academic cooperation between scholars working in the fields of marketing and management in Russia and Asia. Professor Olga Tretyak (HSE), Professor Vera Rebiazina (HSE) and Professor Jaihak Chung (Sogang University) co-chaired this joint symposium. The Center for Sustainable Culture & Service of Yonsei University and Korea Economy & Management Development Institute were partners.
Agreement on academic exchange and cooperation and Agreement for student exchange program signed with Tohoku University, Japan
On 30 September, Prof. Yaroslav Kuzminov, Rector of the Higher School of Economics and Susumu Satomi, the President of the Tohoku University signed Agreement on academic exchange and cooperation and Agreement for student exchange program between the universities in the fields of linguistics, economics and management and other areas of mutual interest.
Memorandum of Understanding with Maastricht University Signed
On 3 October, Prof. Yaroslav Kuzminov, Rector of the Higher School of Economics and Prof. Martin Paul, President of Maastricht University, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
HSE and Shanghai University sign a new cooperation agreement
The HSE and the ECNU - East China Normal University in Shanghai have agreed on a mutual student exchange programme. Documents were signed by Sergei Karaganov, Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE, and Feng Shaolei, Dean of the Faculty of Advanced International and Area Studies at ECNU at the closing ceremony of the III International Russia-China Summer School on International Relations, “Individual and State Responsibility in the 21st Century”. Zhao Gochen, the Plenipotentiary Minister Advisor on Education at the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, was also present.
