The timeliness of Russia’s first cyber gaming platform, the importance of closing the gender gap in the IT industry, and the future of international cooperation in the Arctic were just some of the issues discussed at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). HSE University and Rossotrudnichestvo have signed an agreement to establish a Russian Language Centre at HSE University in St Petersburg. It will train teachers of Russian studies and future leaders of educational programmes and courses of Russian as a foreign language. The document was signed by HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

During the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, HSE University-St Petersburg hosted Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jasim Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to the Russian Federation. In the building on Griboyedova Canal Embankment, the ambassador and an international delegation participated in the opening ceremony of 'Corner of Qatar'.

A delegation from Mofid University has visited HSE University. Representatives of the Iranian university expressed interest in cooperation with HSE in the framework of research projects and educational programmes in the field of economics, legal aspects of the Islamic system of finance and other areas. Researchers from the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences will study social processes in African countries, the issues and features of the continent’s demographic development, and problems related to the causes of separatism and decentralisation in particular African states during a multi-day scientific expedition that will be launched in June 2023.

HSE University has hosted the signing of cooperation agreements with two Iranian universities—Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU) and the University of Isfahan (UI). Six men’s teams and two women’s teams made up of international students from 30 countries took part in the first ever HSE Inter Football Cup. The event was organised by the Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni, the Department of Internationalisation, and the Department of Physical Training.

On June 4, HSE University’s Faculty of Urban and Regional Development met with representatives of Kunshan Industrial Technology Research Institute (KSITRI, China) in the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The faculty management and the Chinese delegation discussed the development of project, scientific, technical and educational cooperation.
