Joe MacInnes: 

This is an intensive workshop on eye tracking and will cover both theory and practice.  The first day will cover basic principles and should provide everything needed to conduct your eye tracking experiment with either SMI or Eyelink systems.  Topics will include a description of what eye tracking hardware can and cannot provide and specialized experiment designs like gaze contingent experiments.  Practical sessions will include instruction on calibration for both systems; using experiment builder software to create your own experiments; and visual software for data analyses. 

The second week will focus on advanced topics for those interested in specialized eye tracking and analysis techniques.  Sessions will be entirely practical and will consist of developing advanced experiments using the psychophysics toolbox in Matlab and advanced analysis of eye tracking data – including temporal analysis and how to extract information that you didn’t anticipate.  Examples will be compatible with both SMI and Eyelink hardware.

Instruction by Joe MacInnes (asst Professor, HSE), Mikhail Pokhoday  and Ekaterina Gordienko (Postgraduates HSE).  Time will be made available for coffee and lunch breaks.
