Possible topics for master and PhD thesis

Priority research topics related to the use of AI:

Creating and training an AI bot to develop students' subject and medtasubject skills (school/higher education).
Assessing skills to utilise AI (from voice assistants and conversational agents to the internet of things).
Assessing and building prompting skills among school students and adults
Development of a repository of materials for teachers and parents on developing of AI skills and digital literacy in children.
Developing AI skills in schoolchildren (using family genealogy projects as an example)
History of informatisation of the school (it is possible to use digital history methods - digital analysis of press materials, memoirs, etc.)
Multimodal analytics in research on how students learn (e.g. through the teaching of prompting techniques).

In addition, I am currently working on the use of digital footprints and non-reactive data in relation to assessing the transformation of general education during digital uptake. This topic is relevant as there is a need to compare different educational organisations and different educational systems with each other. The following research topics are possible or relevant:
- How to assess whether digital transformation of education is taking place? (with examples of selected indicators built on non-reactive data)
- Use of crowdsourced data to assess the digital transformation of education: a methodology

Smartphones Not Used for Digital Learning among Russian School Students

Despite the widespread use of smartphones, teachers have not fully integrated them into the teaching and learning process, including for developing students' digital skills. Irina Dvoretskaya, Research Fellow at the HSE Institute of Education, has examined the patterns of mobile device use for learning among students in grades 9 to 11.

Exploring Ireland’s Best Practices in Digital Schooling

IOE doctoral student Irina Dvoretskaya, who has concentrated most of her research on topics of digital transformation in secondary education, has recently completed her PhD internship with the Centre for Research in IT in Education (CRITE) in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland. During her stay at CRITE, Irina was focused on exploring how Irish schools from various socioeconomic settings put to use the potential of modern ICT to make a difference in school-age learning & development.
