Moscow Jam Festival, August 8-17, 2014

The Moscow Jam Festival, a must-visit event for those who have a sweet tooth, will take place in Moscow this summer from August 8 – 17. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy all sorts of exotic and unusual jams. There will be other activities related to sweets as well.

Would you like to try zucchini and lemon jam? You are welcome on Tverskaya Ploshchad – the ‘Window to Paris’ brings together specialties from French confectioneries. Try cactus jam on Manezhnaya Ploshchad, and aubergine jam in Novopushkinsky Skver. Enjoy traditional Moscow foxberry jam on Klimentovsky Pereulok. If you’re a real gourmet, don’t miss watermelon rind and mulberry jam at the Oriental Bazaar on the Arbat.

In addition, the festival will feature sand sculptures, gingerbread master classes, giant chess, painting classes, tasting a giant jam pie (over 3 metres in diameter!), a women’s volleyball championship, a battle of the chefs, and many other activities. Representatives from twelve countries are coming to the event, including Italy, Thailand, Israel, France, Mexico, Greece, Spain, and Belgium.

For the map of the event and a detailed programme, please see the Moscow Jam Festival website (in Russian).
