Beaches in Moscow Region

There are several river and lake beaches in Moscow, but they are still closed due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, in Moscow Region, beaches officially opened on July 15th.

Below is a selection of beaches for swimming and recreation not too far from Moscow.

Senezh Lake

Senezh Lake is located near Solnechnogorsk and is the biggest lake in the Moscow region. Today, it is a spacious recreation zone with two sandy beaches. The water is clean, and swimming is allowed.

How to get there: local train from Leningradsky Vokzal to Podsolnechnaya Station. See the map.

Novoaleksandrovo

This beach is located on Klyazma Water Reservoir. The sandy beach attracts hundreds of people every day. Entrance to the beach is free; entrance with a car costs 300 roubles a day. Additional services are available for a fee: rental of shelters, watersports equipment etc. There are restaurants and bars at the beach.

How to get there: local train from Savelovsky Vokzal to Dolgoprudnaya Station, then bus No. 33 to Novoaleksandrovo stop. See the map.

Mozhaiskoe Water Reservoir

This beach belongs to Ilynski Plyazh recreation centre, which is at Mozhaiskoe Water Reservoir, about 100 km from Moscow. At Ilynski Plyazh, you can put up a tent, or rent a cabin or a shelter. Sunbeds and parasols are also available to rent. The beach is equipped with toilets, showers and changing stalls. Parking costs 150 roubles.

How to get there: local train from Belorussky Vokzal to Mozhaisk Station; then bus No. 31, 37 or 44 to Dom Otdykha Ilynskoe bus stop. See the map.

Rublevo

This beach is located on the Moskva River, to the North-West of the Moscow Ring Road. This popular recreation area is not far from the city, so it may sometimes be difficult to find space on the beach. The beach is open from 9 am to 9 pm daily. Entrance is 300 roubles (sunbed and parasol not included).

How to get there: bus No. 127 from Molodezhnaya metro station; or bus no. 129 from Krylatskoe metro station to Rublevsky Plyazh bus stop. See the map.

Pirogovskoye Water Reservoir

Pirogovskoye Water Reservoir is a popular weekend destination. The most popular beaches are Bukhta Radosti and Tikhaya Bukhta. The reservoir is also used for yachting and windsurfing.

How to get there: bus No. 314 or 438 from Medvedkovo metro station to Sorokino or Podrezkovo bus stops. See the map.
