Major Moscow parks with local lakes offer the traditional entertainment: you can hire a rowing boat or a pedalo and combine exercise with a nature outing.

Six stations are already open, with one, in Gorky Park, up for opening by the end of May.

To rent a boat or a pedalo, you must buy a ticket. Some stations also require a deposit, which is returned after you finish your boating. Stations may close early in case of storm warning or in the event of rain.

Contact surfaces of the boats, as well as life jackets and other equipment are regularly disinfected. Visitors are recommended to wear masks and maintain social distance on the premises of the boat station until boarding.

Usadba Vorontsovo (Kaluzhskaya or Novye Cheremushky metro stations)

Boating is available on Bolshoy Vorontsovsky Pond, which is surrounded by willows, poplars, and maples. In hot weather, pond lilies bloom on the water. You can also row towards an island in the middle of the pond and see how ducks build their nests.

Opening hours: daily from 10 am to 9 pm

How to get there: Bolshoy Vorontsovsky pond, near Homies café.

Prices: 400 RUB per boat/4-seat pedalo for 30 minutes and 600 RUB per hour.

Tsaritsyno Museum and Reserve (Tsaritsyno metro station)

Tsartisyno offers visitors three boat and pedalo rentals, located on Verkhny Tsaritsynsky Pond, Sredny Tsaritsynsky Pond, and Nizhny Tsaritsynsky Pond. Here, you can take a long boat trip, enjoy nature, and even meet some rare water birds.

Opening hours: daily from 11 am to 9 pm on workdays and from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends. Closed on Mondays.

How to get there: Tsaritsyno metro or D2 stations. Check on the map: higher station; middle station; lower station.

Prices at Verkny and Sredny ponds (higher and middle stations):

4-seat pedalo per hour: 600 RUB on weekdays, 900 RUB on weekends;

3-seat rowing boat per hour: 550 RUB on weekdays, 850 RUB on weekends;

5-seat rowing boat per hour: 550 RUB on weekdays, 850 RUB on weekends;

7-seat rowing boat per hour: 600 RUB on weekdays, 900 RUB on weekends;

Audio guide excursion on a 7-seat motor boat (40 minutes): 200 RUB per person on weekdays, 250 RUB per person on weekends (only available on Verkhny pond).

Prices at Nizhny Pond (lower station):

4-seat pedalo per hour: 300 RUB on weekdays, 450 RUB on weekends;

3-seat rowing boat per hour: 250 RUB on weekdays, 400 RUB on weekends;

5-seat rowing boat per hour: 250 RUB on weekdays, 400 RUB on weekends;

7-seat rowing boat per hour: 300 RUB on weekdays, 450 RUB on weekends.

Lianozovsky Park (Altufievo metro station)

The boat station is located on Nizhny Lianozovsky Pond. During your ride, you may meet a couple of swans, Romeo and Juliette, who are permanent residents of the park. A lace bridge goes over the pond. There is a tradition to make a wish as you ride under it.

Opening hours: from 11 am to 9 pm on workdays, from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends.

How to get there: the boat station is located near the waterfall.

Prices: 4-seat pedalo 400 RUB per 30 minutes and 500 RUB per hour on weekdays: 500 RUB per 30 minutes and 600 RUB per hour on weekends;

4-seat rowing boat 400 RUB per 30 minutes and 500 RUB per hour on weekdays: 500 RUB per 30 minutes and 600 RUB per hour on weekends.

The station accepts credit cards.

Kuskovo Museum Estate

The boats are available on Bolshoy Dvortsovy Pond. A wonderful view of the palace opens from the water.

Opening hours: Wed – Sun from 10 am to 8 pm. Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and the last Wednesday of each month.

How to get there: 2 Yunosti Ulitsa, Building 12, near Gollandskiy Domik.

Prices: 400 RUB per boat per 30 minutes.

Kuzminki Park (Kuzminki metro station)

Rowing boats are available on Shibayevsky Pond. It is part of the cascade of Kuzminki Ponds, which were created in the 18th century.

Opening hours: from 10 am to 9 pm daily.

Prices: 350 RUB per boat per 30 minutes, 550 RUB per hour on weekdays; 400 RUB per boat per 30 minutes, 600 RUB per hour on weekends. Deposit: 1,000 RUB or a driver’s license.

Izmaylovsky Park (Sokolinaya Gora MCC)

Boats are available on Krugly (Round) Pond. This pond is one of the main park attractions. It was created in the 17th century for Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich’s palace estate. The pond has the form of a horseshoe, with an artificial island in the middle.

Opening hours: daily from 11 am to 9 pm.

How to get there: Sokolinaya Gora MCC; see the boat station on the map.

Prices: 450 RUB per boat/pedalo per hour on weekdays; 500 RUB per boat/pedalo per hour on weekends.

Gorky Park

Boat stations in Gorky Park are to be open until the end of May. Rowing will be available on Pionersky and Golitsynsky ponds. Please follow the park website for updates on opening hours and prices.
