Reflection in the Doll
Dolls are not just children's toys, but also an art form that can reflect feelings, thoughts, and deep reflections of the author. See it with your own eyes at the Philosophy of Reflection exhibition, which is open until March 29. Admission is free of charge.
The 22nd annual exhibition of professional puppeteers is currently taking place in the centre of Moscow. The initiators of the exhibition are the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the Art Doll Section of the Moscow Union of Artists, together with the Experimental Creative Workshop DollArt.ru. Every year, a theme is chosen for the exhibition, and artists are given the opportunity to reflect on it in their creations. This year, the composition touched on the ‘Philosophy of Reflection". Each doll is painstaking work, aesthetics and a new perspective on the world.
Another art form—light installations—is presented at the exhibition. The main tool for creating such works is light refraction. Mikhail Dyachkov, the artist and the creator of the installations at the exhibition, uses light instead of paints and brushes for his works.
The exhibition is located near HSE University buildings, not far from Kitay-Gorod metro station.
