The Anniversary of the Moscow Tram
On April 6, 2024, Moscow will host a traditional tram parade to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the city's first electric trams, which commenced operation on that day in 1899.
This event will mark the first time a historical column travels along one of Moscow's oldest routes, Lesnaya Ulitsa. Subsequently, the tram cars will line up on Tverskaya Zastava Square near the Belorussky railway station, allowing everyone to examine all the trams closely, including unique exhibits from the Moscow transport collection: from the pre-revolutionary tram model F to the one-of-a-kind carriages, LM-2000 and KT3R. Additionally, there will be an exhibition of retro cars.
Moscow residents and visitors will be treated to a rich entertainment programme featuring concerts, animations, free treats, and much more.
Date: April 6, 2024
Parade Schedule:
11am: parade column starts to move along Lesnaya Ulitsa
11:15am–4pm: exhibition on Tverskaya Zastava Square
Ticket: Free entrance
