Love in a Galaxy Far Away: Late Summer Exhibitions in Moscow
Moscow's cultural programme features many events that allow visitors to escape to a fantasy world. The following exhibitions will help you go beyond your routine life, set off to a remote galaxy, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of street art, and explore the essence of love.
In a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Created in the late '70s, Star Wars has become a cultural phenomenon and a rare example of a modern saga. George Lucas, director and screenwriter of the first film, presented a world with its own history, races, and internal laws, which were subsequently supplemented by other visionaries and authors, saturating and expanding the universe with mind-blowing details. The exposition spans over 1,600 square metres and showcases more than 200 exhibits, including animated alien creatures, space technology, full-scale installations featuring reconstructions of worlds, and a costume gallery of the popular movie saga.
VDNH, 119 Prospekt Mira, building 21 ‘Gas Industry’
Until September 1
Open: 10:00 am–10:00 pm
Find Banksy
An exhibition based on the works of one of the most famous street artists in the world, 'Find Banksy', has reopened at the VDNH. The exhibition features Banksy's legendary graffiti, paintings, sculptures, and conceptual installations. His works are scattered all over the world—on the walls of houses, in private collections, in museums, and even printed in limited editions for friends. Many of his creations no longer exist—graffiti have been painted over, and some installations were created for short-term projects. The exposition explores several themes, including militarism, consumer society, social inequality, the age of control, environmental protection, and the life of future generations.
Love. Inside and Out
The Sytin printing house on Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa has been reimagined into an immersive installation, inviting visitors on a contemplative journey to explore the question, ‘What is love?’ Thirteen episode rooms are divided into two parts: 'Cognition' and 'Healing'. Together, they form a path from birth to the present moment, allowing the viewer to comprehend their individual experience of love. The installations, created by various artists, involve interaction with the viewer, enabling everyone to gain a unique experience of living love through memories and anticipations of the future. The exhibition includes a rich educational programme, as well as a chatbot with an audio guide.
