Maslenitsa, the festive week before Lent in Russia, runs from February 20 to 26 this year. It also marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. The Moscow city streets and parks will be full of activities, including games, theatre and music performances, carnivals, historical re-enactments, master classes, and of course, lots of pancakes.

For the fifth time, Times and Epochs, a historical reconstruction festival, will take place this weekend in Kolomenskoye. This time it will be dedicated to the glorious era of Ancient Rome.
On May 31st, the 5th Moscow Bike Parade will take place in the Russian capital. The event aims to promote the development of bike sports and safe bike riding. Everyone can participate without the need for registration.
The Original Russia festival is being held at the Central House of Artists for a second time. It includes photo images, paintings, films, folk crafts, presentations and master classes.
