Abstract

The course is dedicated to current theories of urbanism with focus on how to study the culture of/in a contemporary city. We will consider the city as a vibrant structure, which is found in the everyday "repertoire" of social practices and is associated with the assertion of norms and values that form various urban cultures (European, (post) socialist, (post) colonial, etc.). This approach to the city and urban culture requires a wide research perspective, so in our classes we will touch on topics and problems in an interdisciplinary context.
