Course Syllabus
Abstract
Pali is the language of the Buddhist canon of the Theravada school, common in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, but mostly created in the north of India. The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the phonology, morphology and syntax of Pali, to give students an idea of the style and peculiarities of the poetics of the canonical literature of Buddhists. To successfully master the discipline, students must attend the following courses: Sanskrit, Indian literature, Indian history.

- Навыки работы со словарями, как двуязычными, так и толковыми, этимологическими
- Навыки формального синтаксического разбора текста, опирающегося на совре¬менные лингвистические концепции
- Навыки буквального и литературного перевода текста с языка пали
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Знание основ словообразования в пали и умение применять эти знания при грамматическом анализе текстов.
- Знание особенностей палийского синтаксиса.
- Знать все типы сложных слов в палий и уметь различать их в тексте.
- Знать палийские числительные и их производные. Иметь полное представление о системе палийского местоимения.
- Знать способы образования наречий в пали.
- Иметь представление о всех типах глагольных спряжений в пали, уметь безошибочно определять глагольные формы. Знать, какие отглагольные формы существуют в пали.
