Course Syllabus
Abstract
Course “Russian as a foreign language” - is a Russian language course, which implies mastering phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar of the Russian language. The course includes working on all aspects of Russian language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing, listening)
Learning Objectives
- To provide students with linguistic competence at a level high enough to carry out educational activities in Russian and high enough to communicate on a day-to-day basis.
- Form the basis for further language mastering.
- Broaden the horizons, ensure culture immersion.
- Prepare students for further participation in international programs

Expected Learning Outcomes
- Solid understanding: (grammar) Case forms of nouns, adjectives and pronouns, (revision) Case forms of animate nouns and adjectives; (vocabulary) To each his own, discussion of preferences
- Solid understanding: (grammar) verb “like” - ‘be liked”, Verb tenses. В + Prep.; О + Prep.; (vocabulary) Classic and vanguard What century? What year? What is this book about?
- Solid understanding: (grammar), comparison, comparative degree and superlative degree; (vocabulary), comparison of objects
- Solid understanding: (grammar), indefinite pronoun “-то, -нибудь, кое-”; (vocabulary) travelling, travel narratives, tourism, adventures
- Solid understanding: (grammar), verbs of motion implementation, conjunction “although”, preposition “in spite of something, despite something”; vocabulary
- Solid understanding: (grammar), verbs with root "-каз-", prefixes and prepositions to verbs of motion; (vocabulary) How do I get there? Getting around the city. How to ask for directions, how to give directions
- Solid understanding: (grammar); (vocabulary) “How do you look like?” Appearance, face and physique, average appearance
