Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course will provide you with a broader and more comprehensive understanding of the practical ways how the managers in modern organizations adapt to new environmental challenges with organizational resilience, including changes in the overall transformation of businesses, new engagement policies, leading with empathy, new competition and cooperative strategies, changes in the business models of organizations. The course covers strategies and tactics used by the companies, who were successful in the harsh changing conditions (e.g. pandemics), with the aim at reducing negative impacts and increasing sustainability of business. Global events that change the landscape of business like global pandemics serve as a foundation for the systematic revision of business leadership in the XXI century.
Learning Objectives
- • To learn about the new business normality caused by the recent global changes (e.g. pandemics) and its consequences on managers decisions
- • To adopt best practices of managers from large international companies who adapted to leading and working in the pandemic, including changes in the overall transformation of businesses, new engagement policies, leading with empathy, new competition and cooperative strategies, changes in the business models of organizations.
- • To use revisions of business leadership in the XXI century to increase resilience of organizations in new organizational challenges (e.g. pandemics) with new and hybrid forms of organizations.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Students will learn about new complications and possibilities that pandemics introduced and strenthened in the moder managers agenda, including issues of change and crisis management, change of focus from rapid growth to resilience, and about new role of SDGs priorities.
- Students will learn about new format of work that large and leading business adopted to suceed in pandemic, including collaboration and digitalization solutions, new business models and structures
- Students will learn about the pracicalities of online versus hybrid organization, and also will learn about the tools and solutions used by the market leaders when building hybrid organizations, including new issues of work safety, remote communications, issues of employee health, wellbeing and engagement, and models of new performance management
- Students will learn about the radical changes that pandemics brought to the business environment in the period of 2019-2021, changed customer behaviour & industries.
- Students will learn more practical solutions that showed high performance in pandemics, including new strategic practices and strategic priorities that worked well in pandemics for the leading companies
