Course Syllabus
Abstract
The Research Seminar aims to develop students’ research skills’ set required for a deep understanding of international news production.
Learning Objectives
- To introduce students to basics of analytical journalism
- To get students acquainted with research technologies that are used in the various fields of international news journalism
- To teach students to means to verify analytical output in the field of international news
- To develop a complex understanding of the international media production as a system
- To teach students to combine different types of the activities beginning with media environment analysis and ending with personnel selection
- Development of the skills for news chain development and its analysis
Expected Learning Outcomes
- know the basic rules for analytical research in the sphere of international news
- learn the patterns for debunking and verification of analytical information in international newsrooms
- learn the basic patterns of journalistic research
- master the tools for content production in the sphere of international journalism
- understand the principles of the expert interaction in the media
- to structure the content for international media for a specific region and specific sectorial sphere
- demonstrate the skills for news chain development
