Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course is based on the students’ knowledge and skills that were obtained from such disciplines as Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis/Financial Analysis/Financial Modeling. The course consists of lectures (20 hours) and tutorials (32 hours). The tutorials involve task’s calculation, problems solving, case analysis and the individual assignment (project).
Learning Objectives
- The aim of the course is to develop the competencies in taking strategic financial decisions: forecasting cash flows, capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend policy, developing financial and analytic models, creating a new approach to financial management based on the integrated value-based management both for financial and nonfinancial companies.

- Identify and apply the mechanisms of strategic decisions in a competitive environment
- Plan and design competitive financial strategies
- Recognize and implement the principles of matching financial and business strategies
- Calculates key value-based indicators with real world data
- Identify the factors that contribute to and how to predict company failure
- Develop critical thinking/reasoning skills via a practical application of the above within an Applied Research Paper assignment (see course project)
