Course Syllabus

Abstract

The key aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills in taking corporate financial and investment decisions, develop analytic instruments to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of such decisions, elaborate models of corporate financial management through their impact on the company valuation. This course is intended to provide necessary knowledge and basic skills in evaluating financing and investment decisions and their influence on corporate performance and value. We will talk on how business analytics provides sufficient support for organisational changes through M&A and divestitures.

  • This course focuses on modern theoretical and applied fields of corporation decision making in the sphere of finance. In particular capital structure optimization, payout and investment policy, financial architecture and corporate governance.
Expected Learning Outcomes

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Students are able to apply modern models for the analysis of capital structure, dividend policy, the financial architecture of the company, financial corporate control and corporate governance; to reveal the fundamental factors affecting corporate financial and investment decisions; to evaluate the efficiency of investment projects of different types.
  • Students have skills in analysis of the corporate capital structure; calculating the need for external financing of the corporation; estimation of elements of capital; investment decision-taking; business valuation.
