Course Syllabus

Abstract

The seminar is aimed at individual counseling and support of the educational trajectory of a master's students, adjustment of the individual curriculum, development of academic skills and professional competencies. During the seminar, students will analyze possibilities and directions of the program courses for solving practical, analytical and research problems. The seminar will help master's students to identify their research interests and define them in the framework of individual research tasks and prepare term papers and dissertations. The seminar aims to develop the student's skills in self-organization of academic work and develop their academic writing and presentation skills. Also, the purpose of the seminar is to extend an ability to work with relevant materials and become familiar with the basic rules of academic ethics to organize and manage an individual research project.

    Project- Group presentation on “National Differences in Political, Economic, and Legal Systems from the Position of Foreign Business” In the beginning of the semester, groups will select a leader and a nation-state (country) of choice for this specific project. After discussing the selection with the instructor and acquiring the approval, each group will analyze the political, economic, and legal systems of the nation-state chosen from the position of foreign business and prepare a presentation to be delivered in class.

    This course is designed to be a highly interactive class to demonstrate the research progress. The ability to contribute to an open discussion of ideas and to defend your position on a research topic is an important ‘leadership’ skill that you can work on during this course.
