Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course introduces the process of formal inquiry and helps to develop advanced analytical skills needed to collect research relevant information, process and analyze the data using established quantitative methods and to make conclusions on the basis of research results. It makes PhD students familiar with the development of structured questions to guide their inquiry, design their research design, select appropriate quantitative research methods, and apply them correctly to advance their research.
Learning Objectives
- The course aims to advance PhD students’ knowledge of diverse quantitative methods and instruments for their implementation and train their analytical skills through introduction and elaboration of key research approaches and methods.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- The sudents identify proper research topic and formulate research problem
- The students determine the information sources necessary for addressing the research question
- The students develop a research design that corresponds to the formulated RQs
- The students select appropriate research methods to conduct empirical research
- The students apply correctly the appropriate quantitative research methods

- Topic 4. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability analysis.
- Topic 5. Quantitative methods for dependence analysis.
- Topic 6. Analysis of panel data.
- Topic 7. Structural equation modelling.
