Abstract

This course complements ML and DL courses to help students develop a broad perspective on AI and its applications to real-world problems. The content of the course is divided into two parts: Part 1. AI beyond ML In the first part of the course, we will familiarize ourselves with big ideas in the field of AI and apply them to real-world problems: optimal pathfinding, planning, experimentation, hypothesis testing, and more. Part 2. ML in Social and Business Context In the second part of the course, we will focus on the context that defines the application of ML solutions in practice. Where do the data come from? How to ensure user privacy and train models on sensitive data? How to protect models from manipulations? The answers to these questions will prepare students for applying ML in real life.
