Abstract
The pathway from an invention in the lab to a hi-tech product on the market is multivariant and challenging. Each high-end technology represents nowadays a number of inventions and findings. Therefore, any successful lab-to-fab story is to some extent unique. It includes a great part of financial strategy and protection of intellectual property. This course gives the examples of success and failure. Besides that the fundraising options in Germany and USA will be considered. The analysis of how the economy changed in the past and how it influenced the technological landscape will be given. The seminars are proposed to consider different relevant branches (automobile industry, architectural glass industry, displays, chip production, AI and others). The pitch trainings and development of speculative business plans will be the important parts of practice.
