Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course explores the dynamic landscape of innovation in Asian countries, examining the historical, cultural, economic, political and technological factors that contribute to their unique approaches to innovation. Students will gain insights into the diverse strategies, challenges, and success stories of innovation in various sectors across Asia. The major countries we discuss in the class are East Asia and Southeast Asian countries, such as Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The student will develop in-depth understanding of innovation management in Asia countries. Through the lectures,we will focus on basic concepts,theory,research questions and findings from recent empirical research. Knowledge and innovation have to be at the core of any attempt to improve enterprises' performance and the essential function of any organization. We start with basic concepts and will proceed with issues related to knowledge, innovation, and management strategies in Asian countries.
